Heritage Oil


The Client (Heritage Oil) is a medium sized, tier 2, versatile, petro-chemical organisation, with a portfolio of assets managed by an experienced team with technical, commercial, and financial skills. The Company has producing assets in Nigeria and Russia and exploration assets in Tanzania, Papua New Guinea, Ghana, Malta and Libya.

The Client at the time had employees operating in particularly hostile regions, often alone or as small groups with slight security oversight or protection.


The Client’s modus operandi was to operate in particularly hostile and challenging regions of the world, typically those in which most energy operators would have already vacated or with contingencies to leave, whereby the client would seize the emerging opportunity and venture in.

Due to the experienced nature of its employees and contractors adept at operating in these regions, it was an additional challenge to integrate a new protective technology and convince veteran oil people of its many advantages.

The Solution

To deliver SEAK’s Common Operating Platform (COP) in order to enable the Client to monitor its employees and assets, as well as provide timely information and intelligence on the regions it was currently operating, or wishing to invest in.

Additional capabilities included a global Incident Management System (IMS), online E-Training, and Travel Management. This system would also deliver a native App to provide each employee the ability to check in, call for help, and remain updated on the latest news feeds and threats, in addition to the Client being able to mass communicate messages to its employees.

The Results

After a short period of development with the Client, both the Common Operating Platform (COP) and integrated App was deployed and operated across the company offices; in Jersey, London, Tanzania, Papua New Guinea, and Nigeria. In addition, all 450 employees benefitted from the use of the App, which offered a 24/7 SOS and call for help service.
